I first created this Space:1999 Eagle object in Sculpt 4-D; and, frankly,
it sucked. There was no way for me to re-create the complex girder-work
superstructure of the ship without totally overloading my poor, tired
little A500. So I opted for a fairly simple model, and still managed
to squeeze a fairly decent anim out of it.
Recently I bought an A4000, and figured it was time to upgrade that
sad little Eagle into something to be proud of. And this is it. I first
tried to save rendering time by faking the girder superstructure with
brushmaps, but that looked pretty cheesy (as I'm sure you can imagine).
For this final version, I cut no corners. Well, except for using brush-
maps to add surface detail, so shoot me. :)
The object looks for its brushmaps in a directory assigned as
"Brushes:", and a subdirectory called "Eagle". So after dumping the
brushmaps to your working disk, you should have:
Brushes:Eagle/Dropboxside
Brushes:Eagle/Dropboxtop
Brushes:Eagle/Podside
Brushes:Eagle/Podtop
Feel free to use this model in any work you produce, commercial or
otherwise; all I ask is that you give me credit for the modelling work.
Enjoy!
